Stanford has worked for WPIX11 NY as a primary sports anchor and co-host of the morning show alongside Sukanya Krishnan. There he also served as a weekday evening news co-anchor of the 5 and 10 PM newscasts, alongside Tamsen Fadal.

Stanford has also worked as a sports anchor and reporter at WWOR My 9 (NY) for six years, where he hosted the famous “Geico Sunday Sports Rap”. He was the NY Yankees baseball post-game correspondent along with hosting and reporting duties for pre-game kickoff shows on Fox 5 for Giants Football. The Associated Press also won an award for Stanford’s “Know Your Foe” Giants quiz segment.

Stanford is also a four-time New York Emmy Award-winning ‘On-Camera Achievement’ sportscaster. At WCBS Newsradio 880 in New York City, he won the AIR Award in 2002 and 2003, which honored him as the best radio sports anchor in the New York City market. He has also been a college basketball and arena football play-by-play announcer. He became the new play-by-play analyst for WWE Superstars in October 2010, replacing Michael Cole. He called his first episode with Jerry Lawler for the October 7 episode of Superstars. This team was short-lived, however, as wounded wrestler CM Punk, who had started commenting on Raw, replaced Lawler on Superstars in mid-November. In late December, after assaulting John Cena on Raw and SmackDown with a chair, Punk quit the commentary team. Josh Mathews joined Stanford as the color commentator, beginning on the December 31 episode of Superstars.

Stanford has also appeared in Zack Ryder’s Z! YouTube series True Long Island Story. Stanford revealed on the show that he was the man who attacked Ryder’s best friend, Chiappetta, becoming a heel in the process. This was later proved incorrect as it was the same look-alike of Stanford, Rot, who conducted the ambush. As well as the host of This Week in WWE, Stanford was the host of the Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live pre-shows on the WWE Network until November 2016.
