Truong serves at FOX 2 News as a Meteorologist. She is thrilled to work at the station she watched while growing up. Truong has been posting her forecasts in the form of a Haiku (5-7-5) – evident on her Facebook Page, and since the year 2013, she has been writing them. She also provides the latest updates on St. Louis weather on her Facebook Page. Truong has years of forecasting experience in various parts of the nation. Before joining KTVI – FOX 2, she served at an NBC Affiliated station, KCRA-TV in Sacramento, California as a meteorologist. Truong joined KCRA in November 2015 and left in the year 2021.
Before going to KCRA, she worked as a meteorologist for WJET-TV (ABC) in Erie, Pennslyvania, for 3 years. In Pennslyvania, she had an experience with quite a variety of weather patterns such as record-breaking cold, lake-effect snow, tornadoes, and severe thunderstorms. Truong began her journalism career at an ABC-affiliated station in Northern California where she worked as a meteorologist. From there she now went to work for WJET. She has worked for Consumes River College as an editor of features. There she reviewed a lot of music and films.
Truong has always been passionate about journalism. She aspired to become a newspaper reporter when she was young but again she came to quickly realize a love for meteorology. She has never turned back on TV weather forecasting and she has been a broadcast meteorologist since the year 2009. For her education, Truong is a proud graduate of San Francisco State University. She graduated from there with 2 degrees; in Radio and Television, and Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences.
Truong believes in mentoring, treating others the same way you would want to be treated, and living life to the fullest. During her leisure time, she likes working on her body fitness, attending concerts, and eating – a self-proclaimed foodie! At WJET-TV, she had a weekly segment, “Taste Trends”, where she sampled the food from local hot spots in the area. Truong also likes running in her spare time. She has finished 5 half marathons and 2 full marathons and plans on doing more.
