There he appeared at “Good Morning Jacksonville” and “Good Morning Jacksonville Sunrise” every weekday from 5 AM to 7 am with Joy Purdy. Also, he used to appear on “First Coast News” where he did local business coverage. Additionally, Amato led “Great Fire of 1901”, the critically hailed documentary special on First Coast News.
Before relocating to Florida, Amato worked as an evening news anchor and general assignment reporter at KBCI-TV in Boise, Idaho, and as a weekend news anchor and weekday general assignment reporter at KULR-TV in Billings, Montana. Among all the cities Amato has worked in, he says that Jacksonville has been the best for him. He also says that he really likes covering Jacksonville’s history. Amato was part of the crew that started the Historic Jacksonville Main Street Cruise. Besides journalism, Amato is also passionate about cars (he is a car enthusiast).
