Before joining WWJ-TV, Winfrey worked as a news reporter for various stations across the United States. She freelanced for NBC10 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from September 2021 to October 2022. Prior to that, she served as a multimedia journalist and reporter for TMJ4 News in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from November 2016 to November 2019, and as a multimedia journalist for WMTV NBC 15 in Madison, Wisconsin, from October 2015 to October 2016. She also worked as a news correspondent for WCIA in Washington D.C. for three months in 2015.
Winfrey began her career as a sports/news intern for WDIV in Detroit, Michigan, from December 2014 to January 2015. She also served as a news correspondent for TellUsDetroit.com from April 2013 to July 2014 and represented the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Selection Tour as a tour representative. During her time as a student, Winfrey interned at the University of Michigan’s Office of Public Affairs and served as a student marketing ambassador for the Big Ten Network. She also worked as a summer staff writer for Rivals.com and interned for the news staff at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, Michigan, during the spring of 2008.
