Her on-air job began in Zanesville, Ohio working at WHIZ-TV. She also worked in Columbus Ohio at WBNS for two years as a meteorologist. From there, she headed to Southfield, Michigan where she landed an opportunity at WXYZ-TV to work as a meteorologist. In July 1997, she became the first female meteorologist in Detroit television history.
