Ashlee Baracy is an American Emmy award-winning meteorologist, anchor, and reporter working for WDIV in Detroit, Michigan serving as the weekday morning and noon meteorologist. She rejoined the station in January 2023 from WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio.

Baracy attended John Glenn High School in Westland, Michigan where she obtained her diploma in general education. She is also a proud graduate of the University of Michigan where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Sociology. In addition, she attended Mississippi State University and after finishing her studies there, she received a Broadcast Meteorology Certification. Baracy also has a Master of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University.

Baracy is an Emmy award-winning meteorologist working at WDIV in Detroit. She provides 4Warn Weather forecasts on weekdays on Local 4 from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. and at noon and is also seen on an additional hour of Local 4 News Morning on Local 4+ weekdays from 7 a.. to 8 a.m. Baracy first joined the WDIV team in 2010 as a traffic anchor, general assignment reporter, and fill-in meteorologist.
From there, she headed to Columbus, OH to work for WBNS as a full-time meteorologist. She worked there for seven years climbing the ranks and eventually being named the station’s first female Chief Meteorologist. After seven years, she rejoined the WDIV team. She light-heartedly jokes that one of her biggest accomplishments was getting Buckeye country to like a Michigan Wolverine.
During her leisure time, she enjoys watching baseball, chasing after her two little ones, or cheering on her husband. She has a passion for raising awareness for cancer in honor of her parents who are both survivors. In 2013, the Karmanos Cancer Institute honored Baracy and her mother for their advocacy work as “Heroes of Breast Cancer.” She was a Miss Michigan in 2008 and was a top ten finalist in the Miss America pageant. In addition to that, she is a former captain of the University of Michigan dance team.

Jeff is also a graduate of the University of Michigan, former Detroit Tiger, and now a coach with the Baltimore Orioles. Baracy and Jeff are proud parents of their son, Carter, and daughter, Caylee
Her greatest pride and joy are her two children. During her first pregnancy, she inspired a conversation about body positivity through her experiences with body shaming and the message went viral making headlines in the New York Post, People Magazine, and on the Today Show.
