She has served at WREG-TV in Memphis, TN as a weekend news anchor and reporter, and at KWGN-TV in Denver, CO as a general assignment reporter.
She started her career in broadcasting at WMBD-TV in Peoria, Illinois, where she served as a news anchor and reporter. While in college, she interned at CBS 2 Chicago. Tucker is also known for having hosted the program, “Customer Service”, at WVON 1690 AM in Chicago, Illinois. Additionally, she has served at N’Digo Magazine in Chicago, Illinois as a Columnist for 2 years and 9 months (January 2005 – September 2007).
Away from journalism, Tucker serves on the board (locally) of NABJ-Chicago, and is part of the Northwestern University Leadership Circle. She has served as the President of the NABJ – National Association of Black Journalists for 4 years (from 2019 to 2023) (for 2 terms!). Tucker has also served on the board of the Northwestern Alumni Association.

She has won a few local Emmy Awards, including one in the year 2021 for her report on “Eviction Moratorium Leaving Landlords Homeless.” Tucker also won for her reports during the 2008 Northern Illinois University shootings and for her work on CBS 2 Chicago’s broadcasts of the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon in the years 2004 and 2003. She received a national UPI Spot News Award and the Chicago Association of Black Journalists Award for Outstanding Television Reporting.
