Dave Toub is an American Football Coach and former Football Player well-known for working for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs as a special teams coordinator and assistant head coach. He is also known for having coached “Chicago Bears” and “Philadelphia Eagles”.

Toub is a graduate of Springfield College and the University of Texas-El Paso (UTEP). He obtained a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education from UTEP. During his stint at the two universities, Toub took part in the schools’ football teams.
a). College and Professional Career (as a football player)
Toub played college football (position – offensive line) at Springfield College for a year (1980 – 1981) and then at UTEP, also for a year (1983 – 1984). At UTEP, he earned awards (All-WAC selections) for being one of the best players in his conference twice. Moving on to his professional career, Toub got picked by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 9th round of the NFL Draft of the year 1985 but didn’t make it to the regular season. Afterward, he went to the Los Angeles Rams training camp for 2 years in a row but didn’t stay for the regular season either.
b). Dave Toub Coaching Career
Toub works for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL) as a special teams coordinator and assistant head coach. He has been with the Chiefs since the year 2013. In the year 2018, he served as an assistant head coach for the Chiefs, while still handling his special teams coordinator role. The following year, Toub celebrated his first Super Bowl victory when the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV. In the year 2022, Toub secured his second Super Bowl win as the Chiefs triumphed over the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII.
Toub started his career as a coach in the year 1986, at the University of Texas-El Paso. He began as a graduate assistant and later became the strength and conditioning coach for 2 years. Following that, he spent 9 years at the University of Missouri, where he coached the offensive line for 2 years (1989 – 1991) and then transitioned to coaching the defensive line. In the year 2001, Toub entered the National Football League coaching ranks with the Eagles, serving as the special teams/quality control coach.
On January 24, 2004, Toub joined the Chicago Bears coaching staff as the special teams coordinator. He signed a 3-year extension contract on February 27, 2007, keeping him with the Chicago Bears through 2009. The Chicago Bears’ special teams excelled in 2006, with Brendon, Devin, and Robbie making the 2007 Pro Bowl.
Toub was voted special teams coach of the year by his peers on April 5, 2007. His units ranked at the top of the league in the years 2007 and 2006. Over 8 years, the Chicago Bears’ special teams consistently ranked in the top 3, placing 3rd in rankings by the Dallas Morning News. Toub became an electee of the USA Today All-Joe team in the year 2008. On January 15, 2013, Toub announced his departure from Chicago to join the Kansas City Chiefs.
