Brett Veach is an American Football Executive and former Football Player, well-known for working as the general manager of the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs. He is also known for having worked as an assistant manager for the Philadelphia Eagles.

a). College Career
During Veach’s time at the University of Delaware, he played college football. Between 1998 and 2001, he was Fightin’ Blue Hens’s wide receiver, running back, and return specialist. One of his teammates was Matt Nagy (quarterback). Later, Veach invited Matt to join the Philadelphia Eagles in the year 2009. Both of them then moved to the Kansas City Chiefs with Andy Reid (Philadelphia Eagles head coach) in the year 2013.

Veach has been working as a general manager for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). Before acquiring the role of general manager, Veach served the Chiefs as a co-director of player personnel. He started working with the Chiefs in January 2013. For 6 years and 1 month (January 2007 – January 2013), Veach worked as an assistant manager (personal personnel) for the Philadelphia Eagles.
In the year 2004, Veach started interning as a coach with the Eagles under Andy Reid (Philadelphia Eagles head coach). By the year 2008, Veach earned a promotion to coach’s assistant. Two years later (2010) Veach moved to the Eagles’ scouting department where he thrived as a scout.
In 2013, Veach joined Andy Reid at the Kansas City Chiefs as a pro and college personnel analyst. Two years later, he advanced to co-director of player personnel. During this period, Veach began advocating for a young college QB from Texas Tech, Patrick Mahomes, whom he believed showed exceptional talent. Despite Mahomes being years away from the NFL Draft, Veach touted him as the best he had ever seen.
Eventually, the Chiefs selected Mahomes in the 2017 NFL Draft. Shortly after, on July 10, 2017, Veach was appointed general manager of the Chiefs after John Dorsey’s departure. Under his guidance, the Chiefs secured 2 Super Bowl victories (Super Bowl LVII and Super Bowl LIV), 3 AFC Championships, and 6 AFC West championships.
