For extensive reporting, Bannon and her team’s hard work during the event earned them a nomination for a 2020 Emmy Award in the Breaking News category.

Aside from her work in weather, Bannon is deeply passionate about assisting individuals with disabilities. Everywhere she has lived, she has served as a volunteer for therapeutic horseback riding centers. Bannon has been involved in horse riding since she was young, and she now utilizes her expertise to help kids with behavioral, emotional, and physical disabilities learn to ride horses. She says that she finds it incredibly rewarding to work directly with these kids, witnessing their growth and progress each week. It’s a meaningful experience that she cherishes. Bannon holds a Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association (NWA).
