She kickstarted her journalism career by working at KNBC in Los Angeles where she served as an editorial assistant and would rip scripts, beg staffers to help her put a resume tape together, and answer phones. She later started working at KGMB 9 News where she served as a general assignment reporter.
Since she started her journalism career, she has enclosed several stories and events including covering the first sailors to arrive from Operation Iraqi Freedom. After 20 months of working at KGMB 9 News, she moved on to work at KCRA 3 News in Sacramento, California where she served as a reporter. While working at KCRA 3, she enclosed several stories including the Scott Peterson double murder trial verdict.
She enclosed Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger taking over after a historic recall and Barry Bonds’ 700th home run at AT&T park. In addition to that, she also covered floods, snow, and triple-degree heat. She then rejoined HNN where she served as a reporter and anchor. She later left the station and joined CBS-owned and operated station KPIX in San Francisco where she served as an anchor and reporter.
