Root is a proud May 2022 alumnus of Asbury University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Media Communications, with an emphasis focus on Media Performance, as well as a minor in Journalism. When it comes to her profession, Root serves at WDKY – FOX 56 as a news reporter and anchor.
She has worked for WIAT – CBS 42 News in Birmingham, Alabama as a fill-in news anchor and morning news reporter. For Feature and News Stories, and Best TV Reporter, Root was honored at the 2022 Kentucky Broadcasters Association College Television Awards at the Asbury Collegian. Additionally, at the 2022 Ohio Valley Regional College Student Production Awards, Root was honored with a Student Emmy Award, for Outstanding Achievement in Talent – Sports or News. Besides journalism, Root has also made show appearances. In the year 2019, she appeared as the “Trivia Dancer” in the show “Live! with Kelly and Ryan” (now Kelly and Mark). That was actually her very first live TV appearance.
