She’s expressed dissatisfaction with her social media presence and has discussed limiting or stopping public engagement at KTVU’s request.

Haener’s struggles stem from recent events at Channel 2, including the departure of colleagues Mark Ibanez and Frank Somerville. Her prolonged absence and emotional distress have caused concern among colleagues and viewers alike. Haener’s behavior, coupled with changes in the news department, has contributed to declining ratings for KTVU’s flagship newscast, “The 10 o’Clock News.”

Her disengagement with new anchor Mike Mibach has further strained morale. Despite attempts to maintain normalcy, the newsroom is skeptical of management’s handling of the situation, which could have long-term implications for KTVU and its parent company, Fox.
