Prior to this, he served as a Weekend Sports Anchor at KHQA in Quincy, Illinois from November 2017 to November 2019.
Beachum also gained experience as a Sports Producer at KSAT in San Antonio, Texas from August 2016 to August 2017. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Production Intern at Longhorn Network in Austin, Texas from August 2015 to May 2016, and as a Sports Intern at Time Warner Cable News, also in Austin, Texas, from June 2015 to August 2015. Additionally, he gained communication experience as an Intern at the Construction Industry Institute from September 2014 to August 2015 in Austin, Texas.
At KSAT 12, Beachum assisted in the coverage of college sports, the Cowboys, and the Spurs, as well as other stuff. During his time at KGAN, he reported mainly on stories in the Iowa State and Iowa State Athletics. In Iowa, Beachum talked about some of the best athletes in the NCAA, including many winners of the Naismith Award and top picks in the NBA and NFL drafts. He also got to talk about the MLB’s Field of Dreams game, which happened in Eastern Iowa and brought MLB (Major League Baseball) there.
Beachum developed a passion for sports when he was young and decided he wanted to be a sports anchor during high school. In college, he interned for various organizations such as ESPN’s Longhorn Network. Although he misses being at college sporting events, Jett enjoys the dynamic sports scene in the DFW area, which he thinks is the best in the country.
