Corey Simma Career
In 2010 Simma joined the University of Oklahoma where he attained a Bachelor of Science Meteorology in 2014. Corey is a Meteorologist working at Cox Media Group which is his full-time job. He presents and also produces weather broadcasts using TWC MAX computers. Corey also provides severe weather, hurricane, and tornado coverage as required.
Prior to working at Cox Media Group he previously worked at Nexter Media Group as a reporter a meterologist which was al a full-time job from June 2014 to December 2017. While working there, he storm chased in order to produce severe weather coverage as required of him. Corey also produced, wrote, and shot general assignments for new stories.
Before working at Nexter Media Group, he worked at KFOR Oklahoma’s News 4 as a weather intern from August 2012 to June 2014. While working there he observed live newscasts in severe weather markets and competitive news. In addition to that, Corey produced content and weather shows for KFOR Chief meteorologist Mike Morgan.
Before Corey began working at KFOR Oklahoma’s News 4, he worked at the Cooperative Institute for Sever and High-Impact Weather Research and Operations as an Undergraduate Research assistant which was his part-time job from April 2012 to June 2014. There he edited radar data using a Solo-II computer program. He also aided in mobile radar deployments by scouting locations and provided now-casting and forecasting. In addition to that he operated mobile radar equipment as necessary and also aided in other research projects.
