Zachry went to Bucknell University and received a degree in Geography before joining NBC10. She has been working here ever since. Zachry says she likes the responsibility of informing people about everything, good and bad. She spent several days at State College, where she covered the fall-out, the trial, and Sandusky’s conviction. As such, Katy was one of the many reporters who earned an Emmy award for covering such a difficult story.
While still in college, she did a host of broadcasting internships, such as one at WHYY in Philadelphia. Katy, in addition, worked at news stations in Hartford, Connecticut, Roswell, and Albuquerque, and New Mexico. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with her family, being active, and especially outdoors.
