Bates attended the Falls School and St. Mary’s Sacred Heart before graduating from Bishop Feehan in 1990. He is NBC 10’s Sunrise meteorologist, alongside Rhode Island news host and icon Frank Coletta. The Lyndon State College graduate was named to the Dean’s List with Distinction after earning a 4.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. She has a bachelor of science in broadcast journalism and a minor in meteorology. She began her television career as a college intern at WJAR.

Kelly began her professional career in 1996 at WMUR in Manchester, New Hampshire. For four years, she was the weekend morning meteorologist and science editor.
Kelly then moved to Atlanta to work for a private weather company, providing forecasts and graphics for a Dutch cable television station. Kelly recently spent four years at WLNE in Providence before returning to NBC 10. Kelly attended Bishop Feehan High School and Lyndon State College.
Kelly has been a proud recipient of the National Weather Association Seal of Approval for Broadcast Meteorologists since 1998. She also has the American Meteorological Society’s Television Seal of Approval. Kelly was voted the best female meteorologist in Rhode Island by the readers of Rhode Island Monthly magazine in 2013.
