Sims co-anchors NBC 5 Weekend Evening News and reports during the week. Prior to joining NBC 5, he had spent 5 years anchoring and reporting in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up right next door in Arkansas hence he is familiar with North Texas. At Little Rock, Ark is where his journalism journey started. Since then he has worked in Monroe and Shreveport, La.; Tulsa, Okla.; and Pittsburgh, Pa. He has covered all kinds of severe weather situations including tornadoes, hurricanes, and snowstorms throughout his career.
