Lopez serves as the main evening anchor at 5, 6, 10, and 11 pm on CBS 13 News. Prior to joining CBS 13 News, he worked at KCNC-TV where he served as the weekend anchor from 2002 TO 2005. He previously worked at KSAT 12 TV where he served as the morning anchor and reporter from 1997 to 2002. He previously spent about 2 years working at FOX 7 News in Austin, Texas where he served as the 5 pm News anchor and reporter. From 1990 to 1992, he worked at KCRA where he served as the overnight News Anchor.
In 1984, he joined UC Santa Barbara where he attained his Bachelor of Science in Communications in 1988. Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He also enjoys trying out new restaurants, especially Italian restaurants. Furthermore, he also loves spending time with his dog, Sebastian is an English Cream Golden Retriever, and cat and Rico Suave is our tuxedo cat. He also loves traveling and the Bahamas is her favorite destination.
