Tom Hopper Workout
Hopper is in excellent condition. The English actor, who you may know from Black Sails, Game of Thrones, and, most recently, The Umbrella Academy, brings a particularly muscular heft to his roles. A quick scroll through Hopper’s social media accounts reveals where that muscle comes from a lot of sweat and hard work. The actor is constantly posting exercise and progress photos and videos to document his training, displaying a rare level of discipline even among the fittest celebrities.
Naturally, that feed has shifted as a result of the current coronavirus pandemic. Hopper’s workout posts now come from his backyard (or garden, as the English call it) and frequently include his children playing in the background. Hopper—along with the rest of his family—took the time to film a home workout video for Men’s Health, giving us a behind-the-scenes look at his favorite routines.
Tom Hopper Game of Thrones
The following year, he joined the cast of HBO’s Game of Thrones as Dickon Tarly in season 7, replacing Freddie Stroma, who had previously played the role in season 6. Dickon Tarly was Lord Randyll Tarly and Melessa Tarly’s second and favorite son.
He is Samwell Tarly’s and Talla Tarly’s younger brother. Randyll disinherited Samwell by forcing him to join the Night’s Watch under the threat of death, and he became his father’s heir. Dickon is fiercely devoted to his family and steadfastly loyal to his father, no matter where his path takes him.
Dickon is athletic, a skilled hunter, and an excellent swordsman, but he is also quite arrogant and condescending. He is his father’s favorite child and is naturally gifted in martial arts. Randyll names Dickon as the heir to Horn Hill and the Valyrian steel sword Heartsbane, which has been in the family for five hundred years, after exiling his older brother Sam to the Wall.
Tom Hopper The Umbrella Academy
In the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy, Hopper plays Luther Hargreeves/Spaceboy. Luther Hargreeves, dubbed “Number One” at the time, is one of forty-three children born on the 12th hour of the first day of October 1989 to a mother who had no previous signs of pregnancy.
Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopted the baby as one of seven with the intention of training them to save the world. Luther was Hargreeves’ Number One and the leader of The Umbrella Academy, ranked by their individual usefulness.
He has superhuman strength and endurance. Luther was the only Academy member who stayed and continued to serve Sir Reginald. Luther is critically injured while on a mission to stop a biochemical threat, and Sir Reginald is forced to use a serum to save his life. Luther’s muscle mass and strength are greatly increased as a result of the serum’s ape-like physiology.
Sir Reginald sends Luther to the moon to keep an eye out for threats in an effort to focus him, and Luther sends regular reports back to his father. Luther suspects Sir Reginald was murdered after his death. As events unfold, Luther discovers that Sir Reginald never read any of the reports he submitted and believes he was sent away because he was not a good enough Number One.
Luther finds himself in Dallas, in 1962, after being caught up in Five’s failed attempt to avoid Vanya’s apocalypse. He works as a driver for the owner of a burlesque bar here and occasionally uses his super strength to win fights in underground boxing rings.
Tom Hopper Merlin
He appeared in an episode of Doctor Who in 2010. In the BBC series Merlin, Hopper portrayed Sir Percival. He first appeared on the show in the third season, in 2010, and remained a regular for the next two seasons.
After the end of Merlin in 2012, he appeared in Good Cop 2012. Cold, directed and written by Hopper’s Merlin co-star Eoin Macken, was released in 2013. Leopard was the title given to the film when it was released in the United States. Hopper played Asbjörn in Northmen: A Viking Saga in 2014.
Little is known about Percival’s childhood, except that his family was massacred when Cenred’s army raided his village. The army in question was most likely the immortal army led by Morgause and Morgana; it was once said that as a result of this attack, Percival despised Morgana.
Percival eventually became acquainted with Lancelot. Percival decided to accompany Lancelot to Camelot when he received a message from Merlin requesting his assistance in Arthur’s bid to retake the kingdom from Morgana.
Tom Hopper Black Sails
Hopper was the first actor to appear in the Starz series Black Sails, playing Billy Bones. The pirate drama serves as a prequel to the novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. Hopper purposefully played Bones as a “selfless person looking out for his crew,” believing that the character would have changed dramatically between Black Sails and Treasure Island.
The show was shot in South Africa on location. Billy Bones, also known as William Manderly, was the Boatswain of the pirate ship Walrus. Gates was promoted to Quartermaster after becoming Ranger captain.
He is critical to the ship’s smooth operation and was widely assumed to be the next quartermaster if anything happened to Gates. Bones’ faith in the rightness of the pirate cause will be put to the test as he is drawn deeper and deeper into Captain Flint’s future plans.
When John Silver was appointed as the new quartermaster, he was promoted to First Mate. He betrays the Pirates and joins Rogers in Season 4. He is finally defeated by Flint at the end of the series and banished to Skeleton Island for siding with Woodes Rogers.
