Tim Staudt is an American Award-winning Sports Director currently working for WILX-TV since joining the station in July 1980.
Staudt has been broadcasting for 51 years, making him the longest-serving broadcaster in Michigan history. In addition to Staudt’s “In My View,” which airs at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. on WILX, WILX introduced Staudt’s Rising Starts on Thursday to highlight kids who are just getting into sports.
Staudt has hosted multiple coaches’ shows at WILX-TV and has appeared on every CMN Telethon since it began in the year 1989. Each year the teams have been involved, Staudt hosted all of the Michigan State University Bowl game specials and Michigan State University basketball tournament specials.
Staudt also hosts “Staudt on Sports radio,” WVFN AM 730, which is Michigan radio’s longest-running program. He was inducted into the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in the year 2019 and the Greater Lansing Sports Hall of Fame in the year 2003. Other honors include receiving the 2014 Lansing Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Citizen’s Award, receiving the 2018 MSU School of Communications Distinguished Alumni Award, receiving Sparrow Health System’s highest award, The Founders Award, in 2010, and being named an honorary member of the MSU Michigan Marching Band.
