Simpson served as the 4, 4:30 & 6 pm weathercaster at WREG-TV based in Memphis, Tennessee. This was before he retired in late July 2023. He went to Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina where he attained his Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology. After graduating from college, he started off his career working at a station based in Greenville, South Carolina. He left the station after a while and joined another station in Huntsville, Alabama.

Simpson has also received several awards and honors including the 1997 and 2009 Emmy Awards. He also received the National Weather Association’s Seal of Approval. Over the years, he has managed to cover several stories including the 2008 Super Tuesday tornadoes, hurricanes, snow storms, wildfires, and so much more. Whenever e is not busy working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He also enjoys speaking at churches, schools, and civic groups all across Tennessee.
