At a young age, he was afraid of lightning but after the 2011 Good Friday Tornado in St Louis his fear seized. During severe weather, he can often find me in Storm Patrol. St. Louis is his native home.

In addition, he attended the University of Missouri where he graduated with a degree in Atmospheric Science. While still in college, he got his start in broadcast meteorology at KOMU. He enjoys the Mizzou football tailgates, Lake of the Ozarks, the many family restaurants, scenic trails, and music venues. During his leisure time, he enjoys traveling, gardening, golfing, and cooking.
