For his education, Ezell is a proud alumnus of Louisiana State University. He also holds a Master of Divinity from Covenant Seminary, which he received in May 2017.

Ezell left FOX 2 News on his first stint in the year 2014 to be a full-time pastor. He announced his departure on June 10, 2014. Ezell went to be a full-time lead pastor of The Journey South County church located at 1054 Forder Rd, at Bernard Middle School, in the Mehlville area. He posted a video on YouTube where he did an explanation of his faith and being a pastor. Ezell had his 1st service at the new location will be September 8, 2014.
At the time of his departure, his colleagues thanked him for his years of commitment, insane antics, and excellence. They wished him well in his new endeavor and were pleasured to work with him. One of his colleagues said that Ezell always made his guests on the air feel comfortable and he was such a fun guy. Ezell however rejoined FOX 2 News – KTVI and KPLR where he continues to deliver his unique brand of storytelling on FOX 2 and KPLR, from where he left in 2014.
