Ted Koppy is an American Emmy-Award-Winning Anchor/Reporter working for NBC Connecticut serving the station as a Weekday Morning Anchor for the 4:30- 7 AM News. He has been working with the station since November 2016.
Ted Koppy Education
Koppy attended Worthington Senior High School where he obtained a High School Diploma. After this, he went on to join Saint John’s University where he studied between 1985 and 1989. While there, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government and German. During his time at the University, he was a proud member of the Varsity Track and Field, Downhill Ski Team, and Campus Ministry.

Prior to joining NBC Connecticut, he was working for News 12 Connecticut in Norwalk, Connecticut serving the station as a News Anchor/Reporter. He worked for the station between April 2014 and November 2016.
Previously, he also worked for WTNH located in New Haven. There, he was serving the station as a News Anchor/Reporter. He undertook this role between October 2004 and May 2011. He began his journalism career back in the year 1991 at KDLT in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Over time, he has covered some memorable stories which include reporting from Shanksville, Pennsylvania on September 2001, and sharing President Bill Clinton’s State of the Union address on the heels of the Lewinsky scandal.
Koppy has also been privileged to win two Emmy Awards and was proud while telling the story of 89-year-old Bob Koch of Fairfield. Bob volunteers several days a week building houses for Habitat for Humanity. This story was awarded an Edward R. Murrow award and an Emmy Nomination.
For Koppy, family time is key. Away from work, he enjoys competitive sprinting, ice hockey, fitness training, and downhill skiing. Ted has a lot that he loves about living in Connecticut.
