In 2009, she made her film debut in an independent movie 2081 where he played the role of Diana Moon Glampers.

In 2014, she created a short video for the educational website Prager University in which she summarizes her criticisms of the contemporary feminist movement. In the same year, she argued that gay Americans were not uniformly supportive of same-sex marriage, and that marriage should be restricted to heterosexual couples. She described civil unions as an alternative providing equal rights.

Among other things, she said, “I guess we’re giving birth to snowflakes now because that looked like that kid needed a safe space in that room.” Bruce later apologized on air.

Later, Brenda committed suicide locking herself inside the bathroom and shooting a gun in her head. It is reported that Bruce had moved out two weeks prior to Brenda’s suicide and on the day of the suicide, Bruce thought that she would meet Benet for lunch. According to Bruce, when she arrived in the house, she found Brenda locked inside the bathroom and she sensed something was wrong and went to get help, but once she stepped outside, Benet shot herself. The book Soap Opera Babylon said that Benet was involved with a male co-star on Days of Our Lives just prior to her death. Ever since the death of Brenda, Bruce has never been in a relationship with any other person or gotten married.
