Loutelious Holmes, Jr. is a Dominican American journalist and national television personality working for ABC News serving as a correspondent and anchor. He has been working for the station since September 26, 2014.

T. J. Holmes Career

Holmes is the Correspondent for Good Morning America since September 2014. He started his journalism career after landing a job at KSNF Channel 16 in Joplin, Missouri serving as a weekend anchor, producer, and assignment reporter for not more than a year. In 2000, he moved to Arkansas and joined hands with CBS affiliate KTHV in Little Rock where he served as a general assignment reporter. One year later, he was given a raise and started serving as a weekend anchor.

Holmes left the network in 2003 for KNTV, the NBC O&O station where he served as the anchor of the 5 p.m. evening news. During his tenure at KNTV, he went to Athens, Greece to enclose the 2004 Olympics, which were the first Summer Games held after the September 11th attacks. He also enclosed quite a number of events that hit the headlines all across the globe. Some of the stories that he has enclosed include the double murder trial of Scott Peterson as well as the historic recall election of California Gov. Gray Davis that resulted in the election. Holmes attained his degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Arkansas in 2007.

Holmes joined hands with CNN back in October 2006 serving as a correspondent and news anchor. While at the station, he was the anchor of the CNN Saturday & Sunday Morning with Betty Nguyen. In March 2010, Nguyen left the network for CBS, therefore, leaving Holmes to anchor the newscast solo. He also managed to anchor Ground Zero during the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

Holmes also enclosed Saddam Hussein’s execution that took place in 2006 and the terrorist attacks at the Glasgow Airport that took place in 2007. Furthermore, he also enclosed the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India that took place in 2008. In 2010, he contributed to the station’s coverage of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. He also enclosed the 2008 presidential primary campaigns which took part in his success. On 25 December 2011, Holmes left the station and briefly came back again on June 24, 2013, o the Turner family of networks when he anchored coverage of the George Zimmerman trial.

Holmes joined hands with ABC News on September 26, 2014, on a temporary basis whereby he substituted the America This Morning. He was also the substitute for the overnight news program World News Now (WNN). Furthermore, he also filed reports for Good Morning America when news broke overnight.
