T.G Shuck is an American four-time Emmy Award-winning Meteorologist working for WHAS11-TV in Louisville, Kentucky. He joined the station in August 2016.
T.G Shuck Career
Shuck serves at WHAS11 News as a weather anchor. Previously, he was working at WKYT-TV as an on-air meteorologist. He joined the station in 1996. He first started as a weekend meteorologist but in 1998, was the Noon and Morning meteorologist. In 2001, he was ultimately promoted to Chief Meteorologist. This was the first station where he started working as a meteorologist.

In early 2012, Shuck took a break from the industry to spend more time with his family, as well as supporting his three daughters with their acting careers. Shuck has always been fascinated by the weather since he was young. It was at 5 years of age, only days before his 6th birthday, when the “Super Outbreak” of tornadoes struck on the 3rd and 4th of April 1974. At this time, his fascination with the weather took on a whole new perspective. This experience motivated his desire to understand more about the atmosphere and how it works.
He is a proud graduate of Lafayette High School, as well as Georgetown College and Mississippi State University. He graduated from Georgetown College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. From MSU, he graduated with a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology.
Shuck’s 4 Emmys came from the NATAS Ohio Valley Chapter after covering the crash of Comair Flight 5191 at Bluegrass Airport in Lexington. The awards were for being the best news anchor in 2007, for being the best weather anchor in 2010 and 2007, and for being the best weathercast in 2007. In addition, Shuck was voted the “Best TV Weather Anchor” for 5 good years by the Kentucky Associated Press.
Shuck was among the first TV meteorologists in Kentucky in 2005, to be nominated for the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) seal by the American Meteorological Society(AMS). He is also a proud nominee of the Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association (NWA).
