Steven attended San Diego State University, where he earned a Magna Cum laude degree in Communications. Luke serves as the general assignment reporter and weekend morning anchor for NBC 7. He has also covered major stories in San Diego and throughout Southern California, as well as across the country and internationally. Steven will compete in his sixth Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, in 2020. Steven moved back to San Diego after anchoring for KERO in Bakersfield, CA, where he also learned how to shoot and edit his own stories. He now frequently works as a “multimedia journalist,” producing, shooting, writing, editing, and reporting stories entirely on his own.
Steven is involved in his community and enjoys supporting his children’s school, church, and sports activities. He volunteers for organizations such as the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Young Life, as well as many of NBC 7’s charitable causes.
