Bardo serves at FOX Sports as the basketball analyst for the Big Ten Network and FS1, appearing in both studio shows and game broadcasts. He helped the Fighting Illini reach the NCAA Tournament each season as the starting point guard all four years at Illinois. During his career, he was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, a two-time all-conference team member, and helped lead his team to the 1989 Final Four.
Bardo played professional basketball for ten years after graduating from Illinois. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 1990 and went on to play for the Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, and San Antonio Spurs during his NBA career. Bardo also played in the CBA, leading Quad City to a CBA Championship Game 7 victory in 1990. He also traveled to France, Italy, Japan, Spain, and Venezuela to play.
Bardo began his career in broadcasting as an analyst for the Illini Radio Network and the University of Illinois men’s basketball team. Bardo began his career as a sports reporter for CBS-2 Chicago in 2002, covering all professional, collegiate, and high school sports in the Chicagoland area. In 2005, Bardo provided analysis for CBS during the first and second rounds of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
