In Texarkana, Texas, Bell started her career, where she was an anchor/reporter for television stations: KTBS, KTAL, and KSLA News 12, a CBS affiliate in Shreveport, Louisiana. She also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Mass Communications with a minor in English.
Deeply embedded in the city, Bell has also co-chaired the annual “Feeding Our Families” food drive of NBC 4 New York, which collected more than 240 tons of non-perishable foods as well as served almost two million meals in a single day for families in need.
In addition, during their annual “Empowerment Days,” Bell worked closely with the New York Urban League, acting as a host and also serving as a mentor to young women interested in pursuing journalism careers. Bell’s work with the Malone Scholarship Fund during her time in Cleveland helped raise thousands of dollars to send deserving students to college.
