Russell has volunteered countless hours to numerous non-profit organizations that provide educational opportunities for underserved students during her twenty-plus years as a journalist. Mentoring young female journalists are Shiba’s greatest professional passion. Shiba has also worked in Boston, Pittsburgh, Long Island, and the Bronx as an anchor/reporter. She has been a part of several team awards, including a National Emmy, several Edward R. Murrow, and a National Headliner.
