She started her tenure at WLNS-TV in 1989 and has been in several roles including fill-in anchor, and multimedia journalist, just to mention a few. She joined Michigan State University in 1983 and attained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications in 1987.
Jones is also an active volunteer in her community and is part of the Board of Governors at the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences since May 2016. Since September 2020, she has been the chairperson of The Michigan Athena as well as the Athena Internationa; video Chair Board of Directors.
