Sheena serves as the weekday morning meteorologist for NBC 7 News Today and NBC 7 News Midday. She has forecasted and covered everything from hurricanes to tornadoes to blizzards in her career. Some of the most memorable weather events Sheena covered included Hurricane Sandy making landfall on the Jersey Shore, the 2016 blizzard, which required round-the-clock coverage for several days, and the 2013 EF5 tornado that destroyed an elementary school in Moore, Oklahoma.
Parveen began her on-air meteorology career at WCTV in Tallahassee right out of college, then moved on to Fox13 in Tampa. She desired a change after spending her entire life in the sunshine state of Florida. Sheena moved north in 2012 to work as a weekday evening meteorologist for NBC10 in Philadelphia, where she stayed for the next five years.
As an avid lover of water sports that were difficult to find in Philadelphia, she ordered a paddleboard from San Diego and had it shipped across the country, which she considers the “best decision ever.” After five years, Sheena decided to move on to NBC4 in Washington, DC, where she quickly learned how to adapt to a morning schedule before moving to San Diego.
Sheena graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology. She is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist, having earned the American Meteorological Society’s CBM seal. Shelter animals, like all animals, hold a special place in Sheena’s heart. Her dogs are both rescues, one from Georgia and the other from Africa.
