Sharon Tay is an American award-winning News Anchor/Reporter who is well known for having worked for CBS2/KCAL9. She joined the station in the year 2007.

Tay went to the International School Manila and spent her sophomore year and later came back to the United States to complete her high-school education at a boarding school in Massachusetts. She went to Boston University, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism, with a minor in International Relations.

Tay recently served at CBS2/KCAL9 as a news anchor and reporter. Her first huge break came in Boston, where she wrote, anchored, and produced a weekend stories show for a local cable station. KCCN-TV, current KION in Salinas, California, hired Sharon as a general assignment consumer/reporter investigative reporter in 1993. Shortly, Tribune Broadcasting recruited her for its KTLA-5 Los Angeles member as a general assignment reporter. Tay later became a weekend anchor and, ultimately, a reporter for the early morning edition of the news.
In December 2004, she left KTLA, in order for her to pursue her career at MSNBC. She later came back to KCAL9, the 1 prime newscast in the Los Angeles market, and Los Angeles local news at CBS 2. She was again transferred to KCBS-TV’s midday newscast from 11:00-11:30 a.m. and the morning newscast from 4:30-7:00 a.m. in November 2013. She later moved to KCAL9’s 4 pm and 9 pm newscasts in October 2018.
