Serene Branson is an American Emmy Award-winning News Anchor/Reporter working for CBS2/KCAL9. She is a recipient of the Frank Shakespeare Award for Outstanding Achievement in Journalism.
Serene Branson Education
Branson attended St. Bonaventure High School. She then graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media Communication. Branson also studied at the Institute of Political Journalism at Georgetown University.

Branson was also one of only a handful of media witnesses chosen to watch the execution of convicted killer Clarence Ray Allen at San Quentin State prison.
Additionally, she landed an exclusive interview with one of the few sexually violent predators released from the Atascadero State Mental Hospital. She has also covered some of California’s largest natural disasters including floods and wildfires.
Branson began her career as an intern at KCAL 9. She has additionally worked as an anchor/reporter in Palm Springs and a reporter in Santa Barbara. During her free time and not at work, she loves spending time with her family and friends, yoga, and reading.
