Kelly serves as a meteorologist at KXAN News based in Austin, Texas. In 2013, he joined Rutgers University where he attained his Bachelor’s degree in meteorology in 2015. While in college, he interned at News 12 Networks in Edison, New Jersey from January 2015 till his departure in May 2015. He also worked at Rutgers’ local radio and the university’s tv station as a producer.
After he finished his internship at News 12 Networks, he started working at KIII-TV 3 where he served as a broadcast meteorologist from August 2015 to July 2018 based in Corpus Christi, Texas. It was at KII-TV 3 that he began his TV career and worked there for three years. While at KII-TV 3, he enclosed several destructive tornadoes and also enclosed Cat 4 Hurricane Harvey.
Kelly is also a volleyball player who started playing volleyball when he was in high school through college. He had also spent some time working part-time as a volleyball coach. Whenever he is not working, he enjoys playing winter sports including ice skating. He also loves spending time with his family and friends.
