Galloway founded Prophet, a brand and marketing consultancy firm in 1997, called Red Envelope which is one of the earliest e-commerce sites. In addition, he founded the digital intelligence firm L2 Inc in 2005, which was acquired in March 2017 by Gartner for $155 million.
Currently, it is defunct Firebrand Partners (founded in 2005), an activist hedge fund that invested over $1 billion in U.S. consumer and media companies. Furthermore, he also found the online education startup Section 4 in 2019. In 2021, he was able to raise $30 million in the Series A round 2021 for total funding of $37 million.
In addition, he was also elected to the World Economic Forum which recognizes 100 individuals under the age of 40 whose accomplishments have had an impact on a global level. Furthermore, he has also served on the board of directors of Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, Urban Outfitters, Gateway Computer, Times Company, The New York, and Eddie Bauer.
He is also known for Winners & Losers which he presented L2’s Digital IQ Index results, ranking over 2,500 global brands across many dimensions such as digital marketing, social media, and e-commerce. Furthermore, he also teaches brand management and digital marketing to second-year MBA students.
