Prior to transitioning to a Sports Director, he worked at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital as a cancer research technician. He received his Biology degree from the University of Delaware. Though he enjoyed working there, when a chance came to pursue his hobby as a career he raced for it.

In 1982, he began working on Television and his first on-air gig was in Salisbury, Maryland. Prior to that, he worked on radio in Frederick, Maryland. From there, he headed to Norfolk after learning the business inside and out for three-and-a-half years. Cash has been working in the area he loves to call home since 1986.

Throughout his career, he has covered some of the best high school athletes in the nation, NASCAR in Daytona, College football bowl games and championships, as well as MLB All-Star games and Super Bowls.
