Haines co-hosts The View and Strahan, Sara, and Keke as well as the game show The Chase. She also spent some time serving as a correspondent on Good Morning America, ABC News, and Today. Her career in journalism started after she landed a job at NBC Page Program and was later on given a raise after nine months and became the production coordinator. She started this new role in 2002 and was assigned at Rockefeller Center. She started her new role in 2009 serving as the show’s fourth hour’s contributing correspondent till 2013.

Haines joined ABC News in 2013 and started off by serving as the pop news anchor for the weekend editions of Good Morning America as well as a correspondent. She made several appearances as a guest co-host, and after a few appearances, she joined The View serving as a permanent co-host in the show’s 20th season, which debuted on September 6, 2016. Come July 23, 2018, the network publicized that she would not be returning to The View for season 22 and that she would co-host GMA Day. She made her final appearance serving as a co-host during the 21st season’s penultimate episode on August 2nd.

Haines made a debut on September 10, 2018, as co-host of GMA Day during the series premiere. Come August 2019, the program’s name was changed to GMA3: Strahan, Sara, and Keke whereby the addition of Keke Palmer as a third co-host. In 2020, she came back to The View as a frequent guest co-host. She permanently went back to the view during its 24th season in 2020. She also made an appearance on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, a Disney+ superhero series. Furthermore, she was able to interview the character John Walker about his role as the new Captain America.
