Mohr graduated from the University of Georgia in 1985. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and a minor in audiology. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast meteorology from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, in 1989.

Mohr recently served at 22Alive as a Meteorologist. She retired from her Meteorology career after nearly seven years as a full-time meteorologist at WXIA 22Alive. Wednesday, December 15, 2021, was Mohr’s last full-time day at the station.
While at WXIA, she was crowned Miss Georgia in the year 1985 and competed for the Miss America 1986 title. Mohr used her scholarship money after winning Miss Georgia in 1985 to study meteorology in Houston, where she interned at FOX TV station KRIV.
In 1989, she moved on to KTVK/Phoenix, where she worked as a morning meteorologist for Good Morning Arizona. After a decade in the desert, she was hired as Chief Meteorologist by CBS O&O KPIX in San Francisco, where she worked from 2001 to 2007.
She moved from the Bay Area to Georgia in 2007 to co-host Weekend View on The Weather Channel with Dao Vu and Bill Keneally. Her next stop was CNN International. She also provided weather coverage for Weekend Express on HSN during her two years at CNN Center, from 2013 to 2015.

Mohr won Miss Columbus in 1985 after entering the pageant on the advice of a fellow UGA student. This victory qualified her to compete in the Miss Georgia pageant in June 1985. On Saturday, June 22, 1985, Mohr won the competition. The state pageant awarded her more than $3,500 in scholarship money and other prizes.
Her activities as Miss Georgia included public appearances throughout the state. In September 1985, Mohr represented Georgia at the Miss America 1986 pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Mohr’s odds were set at 22 to 1 in computer modeling that correctly predicted Susan Akin would be named Miss America. Mohr did not qualify for the national championship as a Top-10 finalist. Mohr’s reign as Miss Georgia lasted until June 28, 1986, when she crowned her successor, Marlesa Ball, Miss Georgia 1986.
