Sam got his first on-air job at KMIR 6 News, an NBC affiliate in Palm Springs, California. After working as a news reporter, Sam was offered a position on the weather team and has never looked back.
After 5 years in Palm Springs, Sam moved to the Evergreen State and accepted a meteorologist position at KIRO 7 News, a CBS affiliate in Seattle, WA, where he worked for 7 years. During his time as the station’s Chief Meteorologist, he covered some of Seattle’s largest snowstorms, damaging wind storms, and several flood events. Sam’s work has earned him seven Emmys and three Associated Press Awards. He is also a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.
