Asides from this, he worked for the ABC affiliate in Portland, Maune, and Time Warner Cable station in Raleigh North Carolina.
While at Bangor, he was working for WVII/WFVX BANGOR as a Sports Reporter/Anchor. There, he served between July 2002 and August 2003. On the other hand while at Portland he worked for WMTW. There, he was serving as a Sports Reporter/Anchor. He undertook this role between August 2003 and May 2007.
He stated that he enjoys being able to put his storytelling talents to use for sports. This is while explicitly shining lights on individuals or teams that don’t typically get the attention they deserve. Away from work, he enjoys Kurt Vonnegut, Steely Dan, and “Seinfeld” which are among his favorites. Welch credits his native state for being a bit of a “homer” regarding his favorite teams. Asides from this, he states that he pulls for the BC Eagles in good and in bad times.
