Rusty Lord is an American Meteorologist working for WOWT-TV since joining the station in June of 2008. He serves as the Chief Meteorologist at the station. He is currently in charge of the weather crew and adapts it to the ever-changing broadcasting environment.
He is in charge of the weather department’s day-to-day operations and upkeep. Lord began as the Daybreak Meteorologist at the station and in July 2016, he got a promotion to Chief Meteorologist. Previously, he was in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, working for KDLT-TV, a dual NBC/Fox-affiliated TV station.
Lord is a proud alumnus of Iowa State University, where, in the year 2006, he earned a Bachelor of Science(B.S.) in Meteorology. He is pleased to be working in Omaha and in the weather that ignited his interest in meteorology. Lord is affiliated with the American Meteorological Society(AMS). The American Meteorological Society honored him with a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist(CBM) Seal.
