Dean serves as the weekday 5 PM, 6 PM & 11 PM anchor at WOLO-TV based in Columbia, South Carolina. Prior to this role, she served as the morning Show and Noon co-anchor. Prior to joining WOLO-TV, she worked at WIS-TV where she served as a reporter and fill-in anchor from 2010 to 2011.
From June 1998 to December 2010, Dean worked at WRIC TV 8 where she served as a reporter and fill-in anchor based in Richmond, Virginia. While at WRIC-TV, she enclosed several stories including the Virginia Tech shootings, the DC Sniper case, and the dog fighting trial of NFL Star Michael Vick. She also enclosed the Presidential election of Barack Obama and the National Boy Scout Jamboree which won her an Associated Press Award for Best Spot News.
Dean began her career working at VSU where she served as a Public Relations Assistant and as a Photojournalist for The Progress-Index during college. She went to Virginia State University where she attained her Bachelor’s degree in English and Mass Communication. In addition to that, she is also an active member of The National Association of Black Journalists, the NAACP, the American Cancer Society, and The Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Dean is also the founder and CEO of the Flora Foundation, an organization that specializes in helping children get college money after losing their parents to cancer.
