Robin Wright Forrest Gump
Wright was cast as Jenny Curran: Forrest’s childhood friend with whom he immediately falls in love, and never stops loving throughout his life in the 1994 American comedy-drama film Forrest Gump. Jenny, a victim of child sexual abuse at the hands of her bitterly widowed father, takes a different path than Forrest, leading a self-destructive life and becoming involved in the hippie movement in California in the 1960s and the Me Decade’s sex and drug culture in the 1970s.
She reappears in Forrest’s life at various points during his adulthood. Jenny eventually ends up working as a waitress in Savannah, Georgia, where she shares an apartment with her (and Forrest’s) son, Forrest Jr. They eventually marry, but she dies soon after from complications caused by an unknown disease.
