Ritter anchors the 5 p.m. newscast with Nicole Baker, the 11 p.m. newscast with Vic Carter & hosts the “Purple Connection” Postgame series on Sundays during Ravens season. Born in Philadelphia, he loves working in the Northeast. He has won an Emmy Award for “Outstanding Live Reporter” since joining WJZ. Ritter plays a major role in WJZ’s sports coverage as well, specifically with the Ravens. He was a reporter/anchor with WBBH in Fort Myers/Naples, Florida before joining WJZ. He began his career at WMGM-TV in Atlantic City, where he was a news and sports anchor/reporter.
Ritter is an alumna of Widener University in Pennsylvania where he began all four years for the University’s football team as a wide receiver and was selected to play in a national all-star game in Salem, VA. He and his wife love spending time with their family and friends while uncovering everything the Baltimore area has to offer.
