Richard Madden Game of Thrones

Madden starred as Robb Stark in HBO’s fantasy drama series Game of Thrones from 2011 to 2013, which was based on George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels. His portrayal of Stark propelled him to fame. Prior to his casting, Madden admitted to being broke and considering moving back in with his parents.

Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell and his wife, Lady Catelyn, were the parents of King Robb Stark. Following his father’s execution, Robb was proclaimed King of the North and won many battles against the House Lannister, but he, his mother, and his forces were all killed at the Red Wedding.

Robb is left in charge of Winterfell after Catelyn and Ser Rodrik flee to the capital in response to Lannister threats. He assists his mother in maintaining order during a feast, removing Arya when she begins flicking food at Sansa. Robb has a strong dislike for Joffrey from the start. Robb meets Tyrion Lannister and Yoren, who are both traveling down from the Wall to King’s Landing. Robb expressly offers hospitality to any man of the Watch, silently informing Tyrion that he is not welcome to stay at Winterfell.

Bran is kidnapped by a band of wildlings, but they are discovered by Robb, who attacks them with his sword. Robb has a direwolf. At a feast, Grey Wind bites off two of Greatjon Umber’s fingers. Catelyn and Ser Rodrik Cassel intercept Robb’s army as it moves south through the Neck.

Richard Madden Cinderella

Madden starred as Prince Kit in Cinderella, a live-action adaptation of the animated film of the same name. While terrified of playing a classic fairy tale character, the actor found solace in the fact that audiences in the animated film knew very little about the prince and that he was able to create “a real young man.” Cinderella, which was released in March 2015, was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $542 million.

The following year, Madden reprised his role as Romeo in a West End production of Romeo and Juliet, which premiered on May 25 at the Garrick Theatre, reuniting with his Cinderella co-star Lily James, who played Juliet, and director Kenneth Branagh. The Guardian’s Michael Billington praised Madden’s articulation of Romeo’s “challenge to fate,” while Variety’s Matt Trueman called his speeches “flat and regimented.” He left the production in July due to an ankle injury.

Richard Madden Bodyguard

In the 2018 BBC thriller series Bodyguard, Madden starred as Sergeant David Budd, a war veteran and police officer suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He spoke with members of the armed forces who had suffered from PTSD in order to create a complex and intricate depiction of the disorder. The Hollywood Reporter’s Tim Goodman praised the actor’s performance, while The Atlantic’s Sophie Gilbert said he successfully conveyed Budd’s “superb instincts, his cool head under fire, and his complex psyche.” Bodyguard was released globally by Netflix in October 2018 after the series finale became the most watched UK television drama episode since the beginning of current records. Madden won the Golden Globe for Best Actor – Television Series Drama for his performance.

Richard Madden Rocketman

Madden appeared as music manager John Reid in the Elton John biopic Rocketman in 2019. Rocketman grossed $200 million worldwide despite a $40 million budget and received favorable reviews from critics. The film was the first major studio production to feature a gay male sex scene. Egerton received numerous nominations for his performance, including the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. At the 77th Golden Globe Awards, John and Taupin also won Best Original Song.

As an adult, he joins the band Bluesology, which is hired to provide backup for touring American acts such as The Isley Brothers and Patti LaBelle and the Blue Belles. Elton writes music and works with Dick James’ record label DJM Records, which is managed by Ray Williams. Elton John’s relationship with manager Reid becomes physically and emotionally abusive. To escape his pain and loneliness, Elton becomes addicted to alcohol, cocaine, cannabis, shopping, and sex. He binges on drugs and alcohol at a party and attempts suicide by jumping into his pool. Elton seeks help and enters rehab after realizing his life is out of control.

Richard Madden 1917

Madden appeared as a World War I soldier in Sam Mendes’ war film 1917. 1917 premiered in the United Kingdom on December 4, 2019, and was released theatrically in the United States on December 25, 2019, by Universal Pictures, and in the United Kingdom on January 10, 2020, by Entertainment One. The film was both critically and commercially successful, grossing $384.9 million worldwide. It received ten Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director, and three wins, including Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sound Mixing.

Aerial reconnaissance observed the German army withdrawing from a sector of the Western Front in northern France on April 6, 1917. To reach the abandoned German trenches, William Schofield and Tom Blake must cross no man’s land. They come across a tripwire installed by the Germans, which is promptly set off by a rat. He is shot by a sniper and wounds the sniper, who is killed in the exchange of fire.

Richard Madden Marvel

Madden played Ikaris in Chloé Zhao’s Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film Eternals. The film, which was released in November 2021, received mixed reviews from critics and audiences.

Ikaris was the former tactical leader of the genetically engineered Eternal community. Ikaris and his fellow Eternals were sent to Earth in 5,000 BC by the Celestials to advance the planet’s societal development and protect it from the Deviants. Ikaris discovered early on that his true purpose was to help initiate the planet’s Emergence for the birth of Tiamut the Communicator, believing Earth to be a necessary sacrifice for the creation of more life in new galaxies. During his mission, he developed a close relationship with another Eternal Sersi and eventually married her.

Ikaris was forced to betray and murder the Prime Eternal, Ajak, in 2023, heralding the Emergence due to the Blip, when she began opposing Arishem’s plan, inspired by the heroics of the Avengers. Ikaris assisted in the reassembling of the other Eternals in preparation for the Emergence but was singled out when they discovered their true purpose and opposed Arishem’s plan as well. When the team was divided over whether or not to protect humanity after learning of Ajak’s death, Ikaris betrayed his friends. He was outmatched by his former allies, who killed Tiamut and effectively averted the Emergence. Guilty over his actions and having failed to fulfill his life’s purpose, Ikaris committed suicide by flying into the Sun like the mythical Icarus.
