Segal serves as a broadcast meteorologist at KXAN News. In 1971, he joined The University of Missouri where he attained his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism in 1975. After graduating from college, he started working at KOMU-TV serving as the noon and weekend weathercaster for about 2 years and 6 months. He, later on, joined KAUZ-TV based in Wichita Falls in 1978 and enclosed a destructive tornado a week after joining the station.
In January 1990, Segal moved on to work at a station in Denison where he also served as a weathercaster for three years. He then moved to KXAN where he started off by serving as the weekend evening weather and filled in during the week. Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends.
