Luterman joined Taylor Allderdice H.S. in Pittsburgh and he was Captain of my high school Table-Tennis team. He attended Penn State University and graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology in 1988.

Luterman is an American Meteorologist at Fox 2 Detriot. He joined the station in 1997 as a Chief Meteorologist where he brings 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts during weeknights. In 1994, he earned his Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society (AMS). While growing up, he wanted to be an Astronaut.
Through the U.S. Air Force ROTC, he worked as a weather officer for four years and a half and he has commissioned a second lieutenant. During Operation Desert Storm in Southwest Asia in 11991, he was a weather detachment for six months. He also moved to Utica, New York at WKTV as a chief meteorologist during his time in the Air Force.
He likes being involved in community work where he shares his weather knowledge with interested young students. In 2012 he was diagnosed with diabetes, currently, he works with American Diabetes Association to raise awareness. In addition, he works with Veterans groups across Southeast Michigan.
During his free time, he likes watching movies (The King’s Speech, The Right Stuff, Jaws, and The Cider House Rules), reading books (Young Men and Fire by Norman Maclean 1993), and Canoeing and fishing down the Huron River near Dexter. In addition, he likes Michigan History, Mount Everest, The Mohawk Valley of central New York.
